Filippo Zanella, an Italian, had been searching for his daughter Noemi for over three years. She was reportedly abducted by her Polish mother. According to reports, the woman took the child and left Italy under the pretext of visiting the girl's sick grandmother. However, after arriving in Poland, she cut off all contact. The desperate father began a search, which recently came to a conclusion.
The ordeal for Filippo Zanella, a physiotherapist from Cesena (Italy), began in September 2021 when his ex-partner left for Poland with their daughter, allegedly to visit the girl's sick grandmother. Upon arrival in Poland, the woman reportedly severed all contacts, and she and the child disappeared. An Italian court had ruled that both parents had the right to care for the child, so the father reported the abduction.
It was then that the search for the girl began. The desperate father did not give up, following every possible lead and analyzing anonymous reports. He searched everywhere. He also posted numerous appeals on social media and stayed in constant contact with the authorities. The search recently came to a successful end. The girl was found, with the help of a "priest or someone from a church organization," according to the o2.pl portal.
The search for Noemi accelerated when her father received an anonymous letter. Its "sender could have been Polish, possibly a priest or someone connected to church organizations," according to the cited media. It was then that Zanella decided to travel to Poland. He embarked on the journey with his mother at the beginning of this year, carrying an international protection order issued by the Bologna Court and the Hague Tribunal.
Private detectives and Polish law enforcement helped track down the mother and child. The girl was found and returned to her father.
