This year’s matura exams started on Tuesday, May 7th. Traditionally, the first exam was in Polish at the basic level. In 2020, Iga Świątek achieved a very good result in her Polish language exam.

Świątek Passed Her Exams with Flying Colors

The Polish tennis player was not afraid to share her results on social media. Nearly four years ago, she revealed that she scored 83% in Polish. She also scored the maximum number of points in both math and English at the basic level.

She also took the same foreign language and math at the advanced level, scoring 96% and 66%, respectively. She was disappointed with her math score at the advanced level. - I was hoping for more here... - she commented.

Let’s recall that the 2020 matura exams were held in June, not May, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, which significantly disrupted the school schedule. Exceptionally, the oral exams in Polish and foreign languages were waived. The results were announced in August.

The parents of the world’s number one ranked player instilled in her the importance of education, even though sports took up most of her time. Iga’s father, Tomasz Świątek, argued that education would be crucial, especially after her sports career ended.

We can't put everything on one card. It seems to me that we should treat sports as an adventure, and that’s how we treated it. We must remember that sports careers are relatively short. We assume, optionally, that it lasts until the age of 30, and then you need to function somehow, so you need some education

- he said in June 2020 on the "Dzień Dobry TVN" program.

Świątek on Possible Future Studies

Iga Świątek herself did not rule out the possibility of pursuing higher education in the future. For now, she is focused on her tennis career.

I would like to see how I function when I concentrate solely on tennis, because I have never really had such situations in my career. But I think that somewhere after two years, certainly after the Olympics, there will come a time when tennis will not be enough for me, so I will definitely go to some university sooner or later. For now, I have the privilege that I don’t have to decide now

- she said four years ago.

A little over three months after taking her matura exams, Iga Świątek won the French Open, her first Grand Slam title.

The Polish player will return to the court on Thursday when her second-round match in the Rome tournament is scheduled. On Wednesday, she will find out who her opponent will be. It will be the winner of the American match between Caroline Dolehide and Bernarda Pera.
