Iga Świątek Speaks Out About Appearance: A Candid Confession

Right after the match, there was euphoria in the tennis player's camp. When the emotions started to subside, Iga posted a photo of herself with the trophy for the victory in Madrid. She added hashtags like: What a match. On Tuesday, May 7, the monthly magazine "Elle" was released, featuring an interview with the Pole, where one of the topics was Świątek's attitude towards appearance. Typically, fans get to see Iga during her matches on the court, dressed in sportswear. However, the 22-year-old sometimes swaps her athletic attire for elegant clothing, as she did during the recent photo shoot for the mentioned magazine.

Now I am more open, I appreciate when I can dress elegantly, feel feminine and attractive. It’s nice to see yourself looking good. Is it vanity? I think it's more positive. I wear sports clothes every day, so it’s a really great change

- Świątek emphasized, as quoted by "Przegląd Sportowy."

The world’s top tennis player explained that in her childhood, appearance was not important to her or her sister.

- We learned many fantastic things in our family home, but we were not encouraged to pay special attention to style. So later I had to catch up, and I am very happy that I did - she admitted.

On Monday, Świątek also learned about the WTA 1000 draw in Rome. It was quite favorable for her. She may face theoretically the most dangerous opponents only in the fourth round, such as Ekaterina Alexandrova or Veronika Kudermetova. She will start her competition from the second round, so she will not appear on the court before Friday.
