Tourists Come Here for Long, Romantic Walks. The "Grove of Love" Looks Stunning This Year

Lower Silesia is a treasure trove of beautiful, breathtaking places, with no shortage of tourist attractions. In addition to majestic waterfalls in the Karkonosze Mountains and historic castles, there are also some less obvious spots. The "Grove of Love" has recently been experiencing a renaissance, and tourists are genuinely enchanted by it.

The rush of life and the noise of the city are causing more and more tourists to prefer spending their free time outdoors. For this reason, the "Grove of Love," located just 25 kilometers from Wrocław in Skarszyn, is gaining popularity. This place is simply a cluster of trees planted in such a way that they form the shape of a heart. That alone has been enough to attract tourists to what they describe as a fairytale-like place.

The Grove of Love is Perfect for a Walk

This cluster of trees, which forms a symbol of love, is set in a unique location, surrounded by fields of rapeseed. When the rapeseed blooms in yellow during the spring, the unusual shape of the small forest becomes even more visible, and from a bird's eye view, it looks absolutely stunning. However, no one would have known about this if it weren't for a drone photo that was shared on the From the Sky profile on social media. It was this perspective that piqued the curiosity of internet users, and some of them have already added the "Grove of Love" to their travel bucket lists.

People online were surprised by how beautiful a place nature could create. However, it turns out that this place doesn't look the same every year. Farmers plant different crops around it, so in other years, the heart-shaped grove wasn't surrounded by the vibrant yellow color.

"When I visited in previous years, I found wheat or grass. This year, the farmers planted rapeseed, and it caused a sensation! Even people from India, who were planning a trip to Kraków, asked me about this place. Photographers from various parts of Poland came here," reveals Janusz Krzeszowski, as quoted by spidersweb.pl.

The Grove Dates Back to the PGR Era

As it turns out, this romantic place was created earlier than one might think. From the end of World War II until the 1990s, the field was cultivated by the State Agricultural Farm (PGR). Janusz Krzeszowski analyzed maps of the Lower Silesian village, and it turns out that as late as 1993, the forest resembled a three-pointed star. It wasn't until the 1980s that its rounded edges began to resemble the shape we know today. The heart shape visible from above is likely the result of years of plowing that changed the shape of the grove. It's a good thing this happened, as today the place is admired by Poles, and travelers are eager to visit.
