"We're changing the rules of the game. We will also fund apartments for each of our three silver warriors," announced Profbud, a sponsor of the Polish Olympic team, on Monday, August 12th. This means that in addition to Aleksandra Mirosław, who won the gold medal in speed climbing, apartments will also be given to kayaker Klaudia Zwolińska, boxer Julia Szeremeta, and cyclist Daria Pikulik.
"We all know how much work and effort Polish representatives have put in just to participate in these Olympics, not to mention winning a place on the podium. We are especially grateful to Klaudia Zwolińska, Julia Szeremeta, and Daria Pikulik for their silver medals," said Paweł Malinowski, CEO of the Profbud Group, as quoted in a statement posted on Facebook.
"These young, talented athletes gave us all an incredible display of bravery and determination, igniting the spirit of sport in every Polish heart, for which we are deeply thankful. As a token of this gratitude, with great pride and joy, we wish to present new apartments to the Olympic silver medalists from Paris," Malinowski added.
Aleksandra Mirosław, who won a gold medal at the Paris Olympic Games, will receive 250,000 PLN, a two-room apartment, a diamond, a painting, and a vacation voucher. Silver and bronze medalists will receive the same material prizes and 200,000 PLN and 150,000 PLN, respectively. For team sports representatives, 2 million PLN will be allocated for a gold medal, 1.5 million PLN for silver, and 1 million PLN for bronze, to be divided among the team members. Each team member can also expect a diamond, a painting, and a vacation voucher. Additional prizes will also be provided by the Ministry of Sport. Olympians will receive 100,000 PLN for a gold medal, 70,000 PLN for silver, and 55,000 PLN for bronze.
