Fifteen-year-old Sebastian asked a member of parliament for help for himself and his mother. "One day, when I grow up and become a doctor, I will pay you back. I promise! I will continue to study hard and take care of my mom," the boy assured. The response to his plea far exceeded the expectations of the teenager and his mother.

The Teenager Asked for Help for Himself and His Mother. The Fundraising Amount Surprised Them

Sebastian, a fifteen-year-old boy, reached out to the politician, asking "for help for himself and his mother." "My mom and I have been living without a roof over our heads for a few years, we don't have an apartment. We often sleep outside, yes, outside... No one knows about this, not even my school. My dad doesn't care about me; he has a new family, and I'm not important to him. My mom sometimes gets temporary jobs, and only when she finds something can we afford to pay for a hostel or anything at all. My mom is not Polish, and no one wants to help her. I can't bear my mom's tears and all of this anymore. I really want to make her happy. I study well, I try my best, but I can't legally work yet," the boy wrote, asking for help in finding an apartment.

"One day, when I grow up and become a doctor, I will pay you back. I promise! I will continue to study hard and take care of my mom," Sebastian assured the politician. He also attached his school report card with honors to prove that he was telling the truth. Litewka decided to start a fundraiser on the platform zrzutka.pl. "Little Hero, you will go far," the politician wrote.

"They're Standing on the Street, Crying and Terrified"

Later that same day, in the afternoon, the MP posted another update when the fundraiser had reached around 80,000 PLN. "Sebastian just called with his mom. They're literally standing on the street, crying and terrified. Terrified by the scale of the situation, which has suddenly overwhelmed them," Litewka wrote. He added, "The world they lived in until now was a very bad place... Today, we changed that world. Sebastian, you will read this soon, and you heard this from me a moment ago: you need to take this in stride; you changed your life today."

"[Sebastian] is currently in a safe place. He is in a hostel with his mom. They are scared by the whole situation," Łukasz Litewka told o2.pl. The MP emphasized that he is not giving interviews about the boy. "He explained that the media want to put Sebastian in the spotlight, conduct interviews, invite him to TV shows, and that's the last thing the boy would want," the portal reported.

So far, the fundraiser has collected an astounding sum of 565,505 PLN, and it continues to grow even as this article is being written. Donations can still be made until the end of Thursday, August 22nd.

That's not all—various offers of help have poured in, including one from a driving school that offered the teenager a free course in three years, saying, "We will wait." An attorney also offered her services regarding the issue of child support that the family could claim from Sebastian's father, and an English teacher offered free tutoring sessions.
