Wojciech Szczęsny gave an interview to Eleven Sports. The conversation mainly focused on his future plans, both private and professional. At one point, the interview was interrupted by his son. "He’s looking for attention," said the goalkeeper, and the host, Mateusz Święcicki, cleverly used the appearance of the little guest.
The 34-year-old goalkeeper terminated his contract with Juventus and was looking for a new club. Mateusz Święcicki from Eleven Sports tried to extract information about the player’s future a few days ago, but to no avail. At one point, the interview took a completely different turn when an unexpected guest appeared on the screen. It was the goalkeeper’s six-year-old son, little Liam. The journalist immediately seized the moment. "Where will dad play in the next club?" Mateusz Święcicki asked him at one point.
"A tough question," replied Liam, who seemed a bit shy. After a moment, he whispered something into Szczęsny’s ear. Clearly amused, the goalkeeper relayed his son’s words. "Liam whispered to ask if it’s Al-Nassr," said the goalkeeper. Szczęsny had already ruled out this move some time ago, although Cristiano Ronaldo himself had tried to persuade him to make the transfer. At the end of August, Szczęsny announced his retirement. The goalkeeper wrote that he wants to dedicate more time to his family.
Six-year-old Liam is not the only child of Wojciech and Marina Szczęsny. At the beginning of July, another child was born, this time a girl. The proud parents shared this joyful news a few days after the birth. They included a beautiful family photo with the announcement. Congratulations quickly flooded the post.
"Noelia. Welcome to the world, our princess. 3.7.2024. We would like to once again sincerely thank the medical staff and management of the Holy Family Hospital in Warsaw for their wonderful care, professionalism, and discretion," the happy parents wrote on Instagram at the time.
