Menstrual leave or an hour of work dedicated to sports at Decathlon are not the only ideas for extra, paid time off for employees. One international company has taken it a step further by helping its employees find love.
According to nypost.com, Whiteline Group in Thailand has introduced an unusual six-month benefit for its employees. "Tinder leave" is essentially paid time off that employees can use to go on dates with people they’ve met on the app. The initiative aims to improve their well-being by giving them time to meet others and perhaps even find love.
The idea for this unique program came after an employee complained about having so many responsibilities that she had no time for dating. The company decided to address its workers' needs and launched a six-month program in July of this year to help them meet new people. After the announcement, one employee eagerly tested it out, meeting an interesting man through the app and going on a romantic walk with him during the workday instead of being at the office.
The company not only provided dating leave but also purchased a six-month premium subscription to Tinder for its employees, making it easier for them to find a "match." The idea behind the initiative is that romantic meetings will make employees more motivated and increase their productivity. After all, people in love are simply happier.
