It turns out that books, notebooks, a lunchbox, and a pencil case aren’t enough for some parents. When preparing their child for school, they also pack a small kit containing potentially useful items meant to make their child’s day easier and more enjoyable. These items often include toiletry essentials, but there’s more to it.

Mom Shows What She Packs in Her Daughter's Backpack

Danielle, an active TikTok user who runs the account lifewithdaniielle, recently posted a video showing what she packs in her 10-year-old daughter's school backpack. Wanting her child to have everything she might need during the school day, she packed a toiletry bag containing band-aids, tissues, a small deodorant, hair ties, a hairbrush, hand sanitizer, hand cream, and lip balm. The proactive mom also included Victoria's Secret body spray, dental hygiene supplies, and a compact mirror. She even mentioned that she likes her daughter to carry some money in case she wants to buy something.

Why Add Even More?

Sure, tissues and band-aids might come in handy, but the rest? Why make a child carry extra weight? Books and notebooks already weigh enough

- says Magda (last name withheld), a mom of two school-aged children, in an interview with eDziecko.pl.

I try to limit what my kids have to carry all day, not add things that might be useful but aren’t necessarily needed

- she adds. Patrycja (last name withheld), another mom, agrees:

My child only carries what’s really needed in their backpack, and even then, it’s quite heavy. Thankfully, there’s a locker at school, where they can keep tissues, band-aids, a spare T-shirt, and a small bottle of water. But I know some parents would pack everything if they could. It’s over the top.
