Laptops are common devices found in many homes. However, not everyone knows how to handle them properly, which is unfortunate. Taking care of your laptop is easy, and doing so can significantly extend the life of your device. Do you charge it this way? Be careful, because you’re making a mistake.
ASUS, a well-known computer manufacturer, highlighted a few important practices for handling laptops. It turns out that it’s crucial to avoid letting your battery completely drain. Also, don’t leave the charger plugged in once the battery is fully charged. If you know you won’t be using your laptop for a while, charge it to around 40%. This way, it won’t completely discharge and will be ready when you need it again.
Make sure to use your laptop correctly and store it at the right temperature. The optimal range is between 15 and 35 degrees Celsius. Excessive heat can damage the battery, depleting it and shortening its lifespan. So, avoid charging your laptop outdoors or on a blanket, as this restricts airflow, trapping heat and "frying" the battery. Instead, place your device on a hard, flat surface, like a desk or table, when charging.
Also, watch out for moisture around the device and ensure proper ventilation. Always use original components, and if something needs replacing, it’s better to avoid cheaper alternatives. These can lead to further issues over time.
