"Substance" has already won several awards, including the prestigious Palme d'Or at the Cannes Film Festival for Best Screenplay.
What is "Substance" about?
Directed by Coralie Fargeat, the film tells the story of television star Elisabeth Sparkle, who faces increasing discrimination due to her age. She is often overlooked in favor of younger colleagues in the industry. Desperate, Elisabeth decides to take a mysterious drug that promises to make her younger and more beautiful. Instead, she brings to life a second, younger version of herself. However, there’s one problem - they share the same consciousness. Elisabeth must carefully divide her time equally between both versions of herself.
Although "Substance" will only be available in Polish cinemas starting Friday, September 20, the film has already been distributed internationally. In the trailer, not only do we see snippets of various scenes, but also the reactions of viewers during the horror screening. It’s fair to say that their reactions are quite unsettling...
