Haaland had an emotionally charged evening. His Manchester City team faced Arsenal in a top-tier match between the reigning champions and last season's runners-up, so tensions were high. Haaland clearly couldn’t handle the heat, as he let his emotions get the better of him towards the end of the game.
The striker started well, converting a pass from Savinho into a goal in the 9th minute, marking his 100th goal in just 105 appearances for Manchester City. However, Arsenal quickly bounced back, taking the lead before halftime with goals from Calafiori and Gabriel.
City's situation worsened as the minutes ticked by, and it seemed they were on the verge of defeat. But in the 8th minute of added time, John Stones scored after a chaotic corner, leveling the game at 2-2. It was at this moment that Haaland’s darker side emerged.
Right after the equalizer, Haaland ran toward the goal, grabbed the ball, and treated Gabriel in a terrible way. The Brazilian defender, visibly upset, had his face buried in his shirt when Haaland suddenly threw the ball at the back of his head and ran off.
The incident didn’t end there. Shortly after play resumed, Haaland recklessly charged into Thomas Partey, sending him crashing to the ground. Surprisingly, Haaland wasn’t even given a yellow card for his actions.
While the referee may have missed the scandalous behavior, Arsenal’s players didn’t. After the final whistle, Gabriel confronted Haaland, and the two briefly grappled before Arsenal’s Ben White, Jakub Kiwior, and Myles Lewis-Skelly stepped in to defend Gabriel. Haaland, supported by Ilkay Guendogan, remained unfazed.
Later, cameras caught Haaland in a heated exchange with Gabriel Jesus. The two players had a tense argument, with visible sparks flying between them. Though things got heated with some choice words exchanged, fortunately, no physical altercation occurred, and they eventually went their separate ways.
