According to Variety, Netflix will produce a documentary series by Curtis Jackson, better known to the public as 50 Cent. The rapper plans to address allegations of human trafficking, forced prostitution, extortion, and reports of abuse and sexual misconduct that U.S. prosecutors have charged Sean Combs with. Alexandria Stapleton will direct the series. It’s unclear when the documentary will debut on the streaming platform.
In December 2023, 50 Cent announced that his production company, G-Unit, would be working on a documentary about Sean Combs. He also informed fans of the upcoming project through his social media channels.
You didn’t believe me, but I bet you’ll believe me now
- 50 Cent emphasized in his post.
This is a story with profound human impact. It’s a complex narrative spanning decades, not just the headlines and music videos we’ve seen so far
- 50 Cent and the director told Variety. They emphasized that they will do everything they can to "give a voice to those who have been silenced and showcase diverse perspectives". They also stressed that "while the allegations are alarming, we insist that Sean Combs' story is not the entire story of hip-hop and its culture".
In November 2023, P. Diddy was sued by four women, including his former girlfriend, Cassie Ventura. While her case was settled through a confidential agreement, more shocking details and accusations soon emerged. Federal authorities discovered 1,000 bottles of lubricant, weapons, ammunition, drugs, and firearms, including three AR-15 rifles with the serial numbers removed, during raids at Combs' residences in Miami and Los Angeles in March 2024. The rapper was arrested in September 2024 and has been charged with conspiracy to commit extortion, human trafficking for sexual purposes, forced prostitution, and extortion. Sean Combs allegedly created a "criminal enterprise in which members and associates were involved in human trafficking for sexual purposes, forced labor, kidnappings, arson, bribery, and obstructing justice".
50 Cent has long hinted at a side of P. Diddy unknown to the general public. He has pointed out that he avoided the high-profile parties hosted by Combs, which were frequented by major stars and American celebrities.
I’ve been staying away from that s*** for years
- 50 Cent mentioned in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter.
