On September 9, a new hotel opened its doors in Poland, and it's quite a remarkable one. Its opening was one of the most significant events in the Polish tourism industry. The Mercure Szczyrk Resort is a one-of-a-kind facility, not only in Poland but also in Europe.
Located in the Beskidy Mountains at the foot of Mount Skrzyczne, Mercure Szczyrk Resort stands where the former "Eagle's Nest" facility of the Katowice Steelworks, dating back to the 1970s, once stood. The four-star hotel spans nine floors and is 330 meters long. It offers 447 rooms and suites, accommodating up to 1,000 guests. The hotel is situated at an altitude of 660 meters above sea level, making it the highest-altitude hotel in Poland.
The building's design is inspired by an eagle’s nest, providing panoramic views of Szczyrk from every room. Guests can enjoy a water park with pools, a spa, children’s areas, and six different dining options: two restaurants – Flame and Seasons, Aqua Bistro and Pool Bar, as well as two bars - WoW Bar and Luna.
The cost of a stay varies depending on the type of accommodation and its duration. Details about booking can be found on sites like all.accor.com and booking.com. The most affordable weekend stay for two people (from Friday to Sunday) costs around 1,000 PLN.
