Herbs to use in autumn
Thyme
Thyme strengthens immune cells that fight off viruses. Simply add two teaspoons of fresh thyme or 1/4 teaspoon of dried thyme to two tablespoons of olive oil, then drizzle this oil over pizza or roasted vegetables. Thyme has anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties and also improves digestion.
Mint
Refreshing mint leaves are useful not only for summer lemonade but also for chilly autumn days! Mint contains many antioxidants and is a natural anti-inflammatory. Drinking mint tea can reduce fatigue during the day and help us sleep deeper at night, so we wake up feeling more energized.
Rosemary
Increased hair loss in autumn is a normal process, but if you notice more hair falling out than usual, rosemary might help. This herb stimulates and strengthens hair follicles. Simply massage rosemary water into your scalp.
Elderflower
Elderflower blossoms are packed with vitamins such as A, C, and B-complex, along with valuable minerals like zinc, potassium, phosphorus, magnesium, and calcium. With its high flavonoid content, elderflower has antioxidant properties. It’s also beneficial for respiratory infections – it works wonders against colds, coughs, and congestion.
Sage
Sage is renowned for its valuable properties, especially for throat issues. This herb has anti-inflammatory, antifungal, and antiviral effects. It also aids digestion and helps lower blood sugar and bad cholesterol levels.
