This year's Oktoberfest in Munich began on Saturday, September 21, and will last until Sunday, October 6. This can only mean one thing - the city is once again filled with crowds of tourists eager for a good time. During their stay, many happily share their experiences and insights on social media. They've also revealed how much they need to pay for food and drinks this year.
Recently, the media has been buzzing about the drink prices at Oktoberfest. They can truly leave you stunned. According to the official event website, a liter of beer from Munich breweries costs between 13.60 and 15.30 euros, which is roughly 58-65 PLN. This is slightly more than last year when prices ranged from 12.60 to 14.90 euros.
Interestingly, you'll also pay quite a bit for non-alcoholic drinks. A liter of water costs... 10.48 euros (nearly 45 PLN), a Spezi drink is 12.23 euros (52 PLN), and lemonade is 11.67 euros (about 50 PLN).
Visitors eagerly share details about prices on social media. Videos show that storing a bag at the event costs 5 euros (21 PLN). Sausages with coleslaw are 15.5 euros (66 PLN), roasted pork 27.80 euros (118 PLN), and Wiener schnitzel 38 euros (162 PLN). Influencer Chiara (@xphiara) also shared her expenses, revealing that she spent 100 euros (427 PLN) on drinks and food in just 10 minutes. The comments section exploded.
Scandalous Prices
Even for such a famous folk festival, 29.90 euros for 1/2 a chicken + potato salad is way too much.
I’d rather go to Ibiza.
I’d rather stay home.
- commented users. Oktoberfest is a famous beer festival held in the capital of Bavaria since 1810. It’s also one of the largest folk festivals, not just in Europe, but worldwide. The numbers speak for themselves. Organizers estimate that around 6 million people will attend the event this year.
