We Know Who Might Be Iga Świątek's New Coach

According to our information, discussions about a collaboration might be happening between Iga and her team with Wim Fissette.

The 44-year-old Belgian has long been one of the world's best tennis coaches. He has coached the likes of Kim Clijsters, Simona Halep, Victoria Azarenka, Petra Kvitova, Angelique Kerber, and most recently, Naomi Osaka.

With Clijsters, Fissette won the US Open twice and the Australian Open once; with Kerber, Wimbledon; and with Osaka, the US Open and the Australian Open.

"Four years, two Slams, and a lot of memories," Osaka wrote in an Instagram post, officially parting ways with the coach in mid-September. "Thank you, Wim, for being a great coach and an even better person. I wish you all the best," she added.

Świątek and her team already know a bit about Fissette and his coaching style, having encountered him on the tour. In the tennis community, Fissette is not only respected but also well-liked.

"After 3 years of achieving the greatest successes in my career, coach Tomasz Wiktorowski and I have decided to end our cooperation. I want to start by giving thanks because that is the most important thing for me today. Coach Wiktorowski joined my team 3 seasons ago when I really needed change and a fresh approach. His experience, analytical and strategic approach, and vast tennis knowledge helped me start achieving successes a few months later that I hadn’t even dreamed of. Our goal was to become world No. 1, and it was Coach who first said that out loud. We aimed high, and every tournament we entered, we aimed to win. Together with Coach, we won several tournaments, including another 4 Grand Slams. Of course, none of this would have been possible without the entire team, including my fitness coach and physiotherapist Maciej Ryszczuk and psychologist Daria Abramowicz. Coach, thank you, and I wish you all the best. I know you want to spend some time with your loved ones and rest after these intense 3 years. Few people deserve at least a few months of vacation as much as you do" -  said Iga Świątek in a press release.
