Crocodile Devours Child in Malaysia: On September 25, 6-year-old Cecelia Julan Intik was swimming in the Sungai Tatau River in Malaysia when she was suddenly attacked and dragged underwater by a massive crocodile. Her sister and grandfather witnessed the entire event, but they were unable to do anything to save the child, as it all happened too quickly.
Two Crocodiles Caught and Dissected: Specialists from the Sarawak Forestry Corporation, while searching for the missing girl, caught two enormous crocodiles. They were so heavy that a tow truck and crane had to be used. One of the crocodiles weighed 1.2 tons, and the other 1.3 tons. On September 27, the experts dissected the animals. Human remains were found inside one of the reptiles, including bones and teeth, which are believed to belong to the missing Cecelia. Coins were also discovered. The child’s family was present during the autopsy to assist in identifying the remains.
Further Analyses and Investigations: The body remains have been sent to a forensic laboratory for further analysis. The captured crocodiles are under the care of forestry experts for additional studies. The results of the second autopsy have not yet been made public.
