Rice Patties Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 250 g rice,
  • 1 carrot, grated,
  • 1 onion, finely chopped,
  • 100 g grated yellow cheese,
  • 1 egg,
  • 2 tbsp breadcrumbs (plus extra for coating),
  • 1 tbsp butter,
  • Salt and pepper to taste,
  • Sweet paprika to taste,
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder.

Instructions:

  1. Cook the rice according to the package instructions and let it cool. In a pan, heat the butter and sauté the onion and grated carrot. Add the rice to the vegetables and mix well.
  2. In a bowl, combine the rice with the vegetables, egg, yellow cheese, and breadcrumbs. Season with salt, pepper, paprika, and garlic powder to taste.
  3. Form patties from the mixture and coat them in breadcrumbs. Fry until golden brown in a heated pan with oil, or bake in the oven at 180°C for about 20 minutes until crispy on the outside.
  4. Serve the patties with your favorite sides. They taste great with homemade sauce or a salad. Enjoy!
