"Sephora Kids" Are Causing Chaos in Stores

Recently, videos have surfaced online showing groups of young girls flocking to beauty stores. They search for cosmetics promoted by influencers, not only buying them but also testing the products. It's important to note that a 10-year-old shouldn’t be using the same skincare products as an adult woman. However, not all parents oppose this, and some even purchase serums or creams for their children. But that’s just the beginning of the problem.

YouTuber @igapawlak9273, who runs a makeup-related channel, pointed out another issue. She mentioned that these kids are creating a mess and leaving store shelves in terrible condition.

Many store employees are now posting videos on TikTok or Instagram, showing what their workday looks like - how many testers they have to throw away or clean because, apparently, one of the biggest attractions is making what's called a 'skincare smoothie'

- she revealed.

Mixing Products on Bottle Caps

As the YouTuber explains, one cosmetics brand produces products in colorful pump bottles, which allow users to mix creams with serums. This mixture is what’s referred to as a "skincare smoothie." It turns out that kids are mixing products in large amounts, wasting a lot of them. They smear the mixture onto plastic caps.

I don’t need to explain how messy this gets and how much work the staff has to do to clean up that section

- she said, showing screenshots of various videos depicting dirty creams. Sometimes, the girls don’t just use testers but also open new products. Store employees and security aren’t always able to keep an eye on them.

All in Front of Their Mothers

On TikTok, there are numerous videos illustrating the scale of this phenomenon. One video sparked the most outrage. It shows a young girl covering her entire face with foundation meant for people with darker skin tones. This happened right in front of her mother, who dismissed the issue. The incident was recorded (most likely by a shocked customer). Many people were offended by the mother’s attitude, considering her daughter’s actions as racist. "I can’t understand why anyone would do something like this", "This is madness", "Disgusting behavior", "She should be banned from the store" - outraged commenters wrote.
