They Believe in Nomo, Who Resembles Putin. A Dangerous Sect Spreads Its Net in Europe

A pseudo-religious movement predicts the impending end of the world and promotes the vision of a deity modeled after Putin. Its members are active on social media and have been seen in an audience with Pope Francis. Although it was recently banned in Ukraine and its spiritual leader is wanted under an arrest warrant, it is still expanding in Poland, according to Frontstory.pl.

This is a pseudo-religious movement that began in 2014. It originated in Ukraine, where it initially promoted books offering, among other things, "scientific evidence of the soul's existence" and "information about secrets hidden from society." Since then, it has greatly expanded its reach and operates in countries such as the Czech Republic, Moldova, Bulgaria, Slovakia, Poland, Cyprus, as well as in the USA, Russia, and Belarus. The movement’s headquarters is reportedly located in Atlanta, USA, according to Frontstory.pl.

In 2019, the Creative Society foundation was also established, which describes itself as an "independent, non-political, and non-religious project" investigating the causes of the climate crisis. In fact, according to investigative journalists at Frontstory, it serves as a "civilian facade" for AllatRa, involved in spreading conspiracy theories about extraterrestrials, pseudoscience, and climate disinformation.

The End of the World and Earth Ruled by Evil Forces

Journalists at Frontstory.pl describe AllatRa's worldview and its associated organizations as "New Age mixed with Theosophy, esotericism, and poorly translated Russian generalities." The movement believes in an apocalyptic event set to occur in 2036 and warns that humanity is under the control of evil archons. These archons supposedly fear the Slavs, and their center of operations is said to be in the United States. Officially, the movement claims to be an association focused on the geophysical analysis of climate change’s impact on Earth and the promotion of peace and cooperation.

However, AllatRa’s view on climate change is highly peculiar. The movement does not deny human impact on climate. Instead, it claims that humans are causing ocean temperatures to rise, preventing the oceans from cooling the Earth's core. This, in turn, is said to lead to increased seismic activity, which will eventually cause the Mariana Trench to rupture. When water comes into contact with magma, it will result in a massive explosion, bringing about the end of life on Earth.

A Deity Modeled After Vladimir Putin and Police Action in Ukraine

Several books promoting the movement's worldview include the character of the deity Nomo, modeled after Vladimir Putin. Nomo is depicted as the savior of the pan-Slavic civilization, waging war against Western materialism. However, this has not prevented the Russian Federation from deeming organizations linked to the movement as undesirable. In 2023, officials classified AllatRa as a pseudo-religious movement, and the Creative Society foundation was accused of conducting anti-Russian political activities.

Soon after, the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) shut down AllatRa's local headquarters. The SBU claimed that members of the movement justified the Russian invasion and promoted the idea of a union of Slavic nations under Moscow’s leadership. Weapons and passports were also confiscated from AllatRa’s office. As part of the investigation, six people are suspected of treason, involvement in a criminal organization, and undermining national security. Among them is AllatRa’s guru Igor Danilov, a Ukrainian from Donbas. He is wanted under an international arrest warrant.

Creative Society Continues to Operate in Poland

According to Frontstory.pl, Creative Society and AllatRa remain active in Poland. In Poland, the movement's activities are coordinated by Roman Gural. The 32-year-old came to Poland from Ukraine in 2013 and has been associated with AllatRa since at least 2014. Along with his collaborators, he has been promoting the movement in Poland since at least 2020, and the foundation Creative Society was established by him in 2023.

Frontstory notes that shortly after the Russian aggression against Ukraine, Gural’s associates contacted Polish media and NGOs, asking them to complete a survey about violence and exploitation of refugees in Poland. Recently, they appeared at the "Women for Climate" congress in Warsaw, where they unsuccessfully tried to persuade the event’s organizer to collaborate with them. They were also seen in Vienna, at the United Nations headquarters, during an event marking International Peace Day.
