Although we spend at most a few hours on a plane, for many travelers, selecting the right seat is crucial. Some choose based on the route, like picking a window seat on the left side for a breathtaking view of the Himalayan peaks on a flight to Kathmandu. For some, this moment is key to the entire journey.

Do you prefer the window or the aisle? Here's what your airplane seat choice says about you!

  • Window Seat – You're likely a lover of beautiful views or someone who enjoys a good nap. There’s no better spot for a snooze on a plane! By choosing the window seat, you can enjoy stunning views. You don’t mind having to climb over other passengers to go to the bathroom or access the overhead bin. This shows you’re calm, focused, and value a good rest, prioritizing scenic landscapes over comfort.
  • Aisle Seat - You’ll do anything for convenience. Having the ability to stretch your legs out into the aisle is more important to you than the need to frequently let neighbors get up for the bathroom. You also tend to be considerate of others, not wanting to disturb fellow passengers each time you stand up. Additionally, people who choose the aisle seat are often restless. They want to spend as little time on the plane as possible and be among the first to disembark after landing.
  • Middle Seat - If you’re sitting in the middle, you probably didn’t choose this seat. It was either randomly assigned to you, or you lost out to travel companions who snagged the better spots. Hopefully, your flight passes quickly!

Avoid These Mistakes! What to Remember Before Choosing Your Airplane Seat! Before selecting your airplane seat, keep in mind that many airlines charge extra if your seat isn’t automatically assigned. These are usually small fees, but sometimes they can add up. Always check whether your choice will be free. If you don’t want to pay extra, you can also choose a free seat during check-in – but this depends entirely on the goodwill of the airline staff.
