Mr. Andrzej lives in Słupsk and works as a bus driver. For a long time, he and his wife tried to have a child. "In the beginning, everything was great, a normal relationship, a model marriage" - he said during an interview with "Interwencja" on Polsat TV. The couple attempted in vitro fertilization, but it was unsuccessful. When Mr. Andrzej started considering adoption, his wife suddenly became pregnant.
This came as a shock to Mr. Andrzej, as he knew he was infertile. Despite this, he decided to forgive his wife and raise the girl born in 2013 together. "I seriously considered separating at that time, but I decided I wanted to keep the family together" - he admitted. However, three years later, the same thing happened, and his wife announced she was expecting another child. This time, Mr. Andrzej couldn’t handle it as calmly as before. "That was too much for me" - he said. The twins, a boy and a girl, were born. Mr. Andrzej was devastated by the situation. He couldn’t sleep and sought help from a specialist.
I had a suicide attempt because it was just too much, and I couldn’t handle it emotionally. I took too many pills. When I was in the hospital, I found out that she had filed for divorce
- Mr. Andrzej recalled. It turned out that in the divorce papers, his wife had also requested child support for the children. His arguments about being infertile were to no avail.
If a child is born during a marriage, or within 300 days of the marriage ending or being dissolved, the biological father is considered to be the husband or former husband of the child’s mother
- explained attorney Iga Staniuk-Rabenda. Mr. Andrzej filed three requests for the prosecutor to file a paternity denial lawsuit, but to no avail.
The prosecutor, considering the best interests of the minor children and the fact that the biological father could not be identified, deemed that filing the lawsuit was unwarranted
- explained Patryk Wegner from the District Prosecutor's Office in Lębork. His ex-wife refuses to provide information about the biological fathers. It is only known that one is from Słupsk and the other from Krępa Słupska. As a result, Mr. Andrzej pays 1,000 PLN in monthly child support for three children who are not his.
