Mbappe Removed from Photo: Here's Why

The French national team has completed its October matches in the UEFA Nations League, with Kylian Mbappe absent from the games against Israel and Belgium, reportedly to rest before resuming club competitions. Meanwhile, the Real Madrid star was spotted at a Swedish nightclub and has since been accused of rape and sexual harassment. Now, Mbappe's image has been removed from an advertising campaign. But why?

A lot has been happening around Kylian Mbappe lately. The former PSG star joined Real Madrid over the summer, but the media is not only focusing on his on-field performance. During the international break, the 25-year-old surprisingly did not attend the French national team's training camp. Officially, he was said to be "resting and preparing for upcoming challenges with Real Madrid".

Mbappe Removed from Ad Campaign: Here’s Why

In reality, Mbappe was spotted in Sweden, specifically at the nightclub "V*****/The Wall" in the Stureplan district of Stockholm. French sports newspaper L'Equipe commented, "If you play against Lille, then Villarreal, but skip the national team, you're treating us like fools, Kylian." To make matters worse, Swedish newspaper Expressen reported that the player had been accused of "rape and sexual assault".

The Real Madrid winger quickly denied these rumors, speculating that his former employer might be behind them. Soon, Paris Saint-Germain is set to take legal action against Mbappe for a large sum of money. In short, the recent actions of the 25-year-old have caused quite a stir in both France and Spain, with some even suggesting that Real Madrid itself is unhappy with their player’s behavior following the incident.

Recently, Real Madrid, in collaboration with Adidas, released an advertisement featuring stars like Jude Bellingham, Roberto Carlos, and Mbappe. However, on the same image shared by Real Madrid's official profile, Mbappe was... removed. According to the official explanation, the reason for Mbappe’s "disappearance" from the post is due to sponsorship agreements. Mbappe is primarily partnered with Nike, meaning he could not appear in a Real Madrid campaign tied to Adidas, Nike's biggest competitor.

Following the controversy of removing the player from the ad, Real Madrid quickly posted photos of Mbappe during training to soften his image. Florentino Perez's club is keen to distance itself from the scandal surrounding its player. Meanwhile, Swedish sources continue to report that Mbappe is considered a "legitimate suspect" in the ongoing investigation, a specific legal status under Swedish law.
