Halloween Cookies - Smiling Pumpkins

A simple and quick way to make homemade sweets. For decoration, you’ll need orange fondant and a little bit of patience.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 cups flour
  • A pinch of salt
  • 200 g butter
  • 3 egg yolks
  • Vanilla sugar
  • Orange fondant for decoration

Preparation:

  1. Start by mixing the flour, salt, powdered sugar, and vanilla sugar. Then add the egg yolks, butter, and knead it into a smooth dough. Put the dough in the refrigerator for one hour.
  2. After that time, roll out the dough and use a pumpkin-shaped cookie cutter. Place the cookies on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake for 10 minutes at 180°C. Keep an eye on the color of the cookies; they should be just lightly browned.
  3. Now, using the same cutters, cut pumpkin shapes from the fondant and press them onto the baked cookies. You can lightly moisten the bottom of the fondant with water beforehand.

Halloween Cookies - Ghosts with Icing

This is an adorable, sweet option that requires a bit of artistic flair. After baking, the ghost cookies should be painted with a thick layer of icing, which should have a consistency similar to paint.
