Delayed Flight, No Seat, and a Different Destination Airport: Zbigniew Preisner Describes a Horrible Situation

All afternoon, Ryanair kept sending notifications that the flight was on time. Knowing this airline's darker side, I started checking to see if it was really on time. By 5:00 PM Polish time, they announced that the departure from Krakow was delayed by an hour, and by 5:45, it was delayed by an hour and a half

- wrote Preisner. His flight was supposed to be served by the same plane, so it was expected that the journey back to Krakow would also be delayed. When the composer finally arrived at the airport, he was in for a shock. "What I saw after passing through security was pure armageddon. People were sitting everywhere. It was extremely hot, and buying water or food took at least half an hour. And that was just the beginning of the ordeal" - he added.

When Preisner finally boarded the delayed plane, he discovered that the seat he had paid extra for was not an XL option. "I asked the flight attendant about it and was told that they had changed the aircraft to one that didn’t have such a seat" -  he continued. The problems didn’t end there.

The captain of the plane had about 45 minutes to inform passengers about the flight's diversion to Katowice. Passengers could have contacted their families, friends, and arranged for a quicker return home. We received this information from the captain 17 minutes before landing in Katowice

- the composer noted. As it turned out, the plane, which was supposed to land at Balice in Krakow, eventually landed in Katowice in the middle of the night.

"I Will Never Fly Ryanair Again". The Composer Plans to Seek Compensation

Zbigniew Preisner also shared that his lawyers are already preparing a complaint against Ryanair and will seek compensation and damages. "I am also checking and considering the possibility of holding the captain of this disastrous flight accountable, as it is the captain's duty to ensure the welfare of the passengers," the composer concluded.

Ryanair has not yet responded to our request for comment on the matter.
