Actor from "The Matrix" Series Joins Eryk Kulm in Polish Film "Chopin, Chopin!"

French actor Lambert Wilson, known for his role in "The Matrix" series, has joined the cast of Michał Kwieciński's new film Chopin, Chopin! He will star alongside Eryk Kulm in this biographical movie about the legendary composer.

Filming for "Chopin, Chopin!" has just begun under the direction of Michał Kwieciński. Eryk Kulm, one of the most sought-after young actors in recent years, will play the role of Fryderyk Chopin. The cast also includes French actor Lambert Wilson, famous for his portrayal of the Merovingian in "The Matrix" series. Wilson will take on the role of King Louis Philippe I.

Lambert Wilson Joins the Cast of "Chopin, Chopin!"

Wilson's participation in the film was first reported by "Variety", which spoke with the actor about his new role.

- he said in the interview. Wilson also praised Bartosz Janiszewski's screenplay, calling it a "precise and deeply moving" portrayal of the composer’s life.

Director Michał Kwieciński emphasized that the role of Chopin was destined for Eryk Kulm. He highlighted that the actor, known for his roles in box-office hits like "Filip" and "Teściowie 2", not only bears a physical resemblance to Chopin but also has a musical background.

Filming for "Chopin, Chopin!" will take place in several Polish regions, including Lower Silesia, Lubusz, Łódź, and Masovia. Internationally, locations include Bordeaux, France, and Mallorca, Spain. The film is set to premiere in 2025.

The movie will tell the story of the Polish piano genius living under the shadow of death - diagnosed with tuberculosis. With a terminal illness, Chopin strives to make the most of his remaining time, living life to the fullest - literally to the last breath. The plot will focus on selected intimate and lesser-known moments from Chopin’s life, drawn from numerous books and private letters.
