Critical situation in Lądek-Zdrój: "There’s no more time to wait; the Biała Lądecka River has overflowed and is flooding our streets, just like in 1997. With each hour, it can only get worse," Mayor Tomasz Nowicki told PAP. The water is flooding both the city center and the outskirts. Evacuation of residents from various streets is underway.
In Lower Silesia, 200 liters of water per square meter have fallen locally. Warning and emergency levels have been exceeded at over 60 hydrological stations. Many municipal and county roads are impassable. Tens of thousands of people are without power. Footage shows Stronie Śląskie under water.
Głuchołazy is battling the elements: "The situation is no longer difficult. It’s dramatic. Sandbags are fighting the water, but some are leaking. The next few hours will be decisive" - reports a Radio Zet journalist. Nysa is also flooded. "At the moment, the situation is very serious. Unfortunately, some people don’t seem to understand the severity and scale of the threat. They think that as long as the bridge is standing, they are safe, but that’s not the case. I urge everyone to evacuate the city or move to higher ground as quickly as possible. We are sinking" - Mayor Paweł Szymkowicz told Rmf24.pl. The water level of the Nysa Kłodzka River rose to over 665 cm on Sunday morning (the emergency level is set at 240 cm).
"Unfortunately, Ustroń was flooded overnight. After midnight, the Młynówka stream overflowed. Many streets and homes in the city center are underwater. But it's not just the center that’s struggling with water. Homes and roads in almost every district are flooded. Firefighters from the Volunteer Fire Department, supported by units from neighboring municipalities and cities, are battling the elements. During the night, the Wisła River reached almost 3 meters, meaning it rapidly rose by over 1.5 meters in just a few hours. The battle against the forces of nature continues. And one more plea! Remember not to approach streams, floodplains, or the Wisła River" - Ustroń Mayor Paweł Sztefek warned in the morning.
Wrocław: "According to hydrologists, the high water will reach Wrocław on Thursday or Friday. It seems that the infrastructure built after 1997 and 2010 should be sufficient for Wrocław itself. Today, I have no reason to issue warnings that Wrocław will be endangered. However, in many places, what people are seeing and experiencing is more severe than in 1997" - Prime Minister Donald Tusk said at a press conference.
