The children who went missing in Silesia 20 years ago never made it back home. Despite efforts by the police, families, and local communities to solve the mystery and identify the kidnappers, the case remains unsolved to this day.
No one saw or heard anything, even though the children vanished near their homes, sometimes in the middle of a neighborhood, right by a main street. They came from modest families, maybe they were being watched beforehand. Girls were targeted more often. To this day, no one has come forward to reveal the truth after all these years
- reports "Nowa Trybuna Opolska".
It was July 2002. Nine-year-old Wioletka left her home in Szopienice at 5 PM to bring soup to her uncle, who lived just a few houses away. To this day, it's unclear whether the man had any involvement in her disappearance. The police did not charge him with anything. The only potential witness to the girl's abduction was her 10-year-old friend.
Patryk claimed he saw Wioletka around 7 PM walking towards the playground when a distinct purple Fiat 126 with a spoiler and two black stripes painted on the front and back stopped beside her. The boy testified that a strong blond man jumped out and dragged the child into the car. The police investigated the scene but found no evidence to support the boy's account. That night, nearly a hundred people searched for Wioletka. The next day, her body was found in Morawa Pond near Sosnowa Street.
In Szopienice, Kuba also went missing. He was playing near his home in January 1999. The boy was supposed to visit his friend’s yard and never returned.
They searched attics and basements, every corner and cranny, the river. The boy disappeared. His body was never found
