Paris has long been called the "City of Love" or the "City of Romance". Many people choose it for honeymoons, anniversary celebrations, or proposals. Its charming streets and cozy cafes have solidified its reputation even further. But as it turns out, not everyone agrees that the French capital is the most romantic place in the world.
Talker Research, in collaboration with Funjet Vacations, conducted a survey of 2,000 Americans to determine the most romantic travel destinations. The results revealed that Maui, Hawaii, is the number one destination this year, receiving 34% of the votes. Paris came in second with 33%, and Rome was third with 29%.
Interestingly, 69% of respondents said they would love to visit these popular destinations but also believe that smaller towns are more romantic. Additionally, 62% agreed that they are more romantic while on vacation than in their everyday lives.
"Vacations together aren’t just about discovering new places. They’re about deepening or rekindling a relationship, escaping the everyday routine, and celebrating the love that binds you," said Dana Studebaker from Funjet Vacations. According to the survey, 55% of people would confess their love during a walk on the beach, 54% while watching a sunset, and 53% simply while holding hands. You already know the top three most romantic destinations, but you're probably curious about the rest of the list. Here’s the full ranking:
