The fourth season of the hit series "Bridgerton" is picking up steam. The production has already announced who will play the future partner of one of the Bridgerton brothers, but that's not the only new face in the series. Michelle Mao, Isabella Wei, and Katie Leung - recognizable to "Harry Potter" fans - are joining Netflix and Shondaland for this new installment.
Katie Leung played Harry Potter's teenage love interest, Cho Chang, in the "Harry Potter" film series. In the years following the final installment of "Deathly Hallows", she took on smaller supporting roles, worked in voice acting for animations and video games, and appeared in TV shows like The Peripheral, Annika, and Nighsleeper. Fans of fantasy may have also seen her in three episodes of The Wheel of Time.
Leung, Mao, and Wei will play members of the same family. Katie Leung will portray Lady Araminta Gun, a woman with a tumultuous past, having been married and widowed several times. Her character will be focused on securing husbands for at least one of her daughters, Rosamund or Posy. Their fates will be closely intertwined with Sophie Baek, played by Yerin Ha, who will capture the heart of Violet Bridgerton’s second son, Benedict.
Katie Leung is not the first actor from "Harry Potter" to join the "Bridgerton" cast. Regé-Jean Page, the breakout star of the show's first season, also had a brief role in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. Although it was only a fleeting appearance, it's a unique claim to fame!
Since its debut, "Bridgerton" has been one of the most popular series on Netflix. All three seasons have made it onto the platform's all-time TOP 10 list, accumulating over 2.5 billion hours of viewership. Only two seasons of Stranger Things have reached a similar milestone. While Bridgerton may not be racking up awards, the adaptations of Julia Quinn's romantic novels have won the hearts of female audiences worldwide.
The series has released three main seasons and a spin-off focusing on the story of Queen Charlotte. Filming for the next season is expected to last eight months, with the season once again consisting of eight episodes. While the premiere date hasn't been announced yet, it's likely to be no sooner than the end of 2025.
