Michał Matczak, known in the entertainment industry as Mata, is currently one of the most popular rappers in the Polish music scene. He debuted in early 2020 with the album 100 dni do matury, which quickly earned diamond status, and singles like Patointeligencja and Schodki continue to enjoy popularity among listeners. In the following years, he released two more successful albums and played hundreds of concerts, consistently drawing crowds of fans. Now, the 24-year-old can add another achievement to his growing list of successes.
Mata’s music, although often considered controversial, has garnered him a loyal fan base over the years. His work has brought him numerous prestigious nominations and awards, including several Fryderyk music awards, as well as accolades from Popkillers and Empik Bestsellers. The rapper continually collaborates with other artists and engages in various projects, but the one he recently completed is particularly special, as no other Polish artist has achieved a similar feat.
It turns out that Mata was invited to join the lineup of stars creating the soundtrack for the popular sports game EA Sports FC 25. Although the official release won’t happen until September 27, 2024, it’s already known which globally renowned artists will accompany him on the list. These include musicians like ASAP Rocky, Charli XCX, Glass Animals, Twenty One Pilots, Coldplay, and Billie Eilish.
According to the announcement, the star of this year's edition of EA Sports FC 25 is renowned footballer Jude Bellingham, who plays for England’s national team and Spain’s Real Madrid. The game also features Polish elements, such as Kamil Grosicki, considered one of Poland’s top players.
As part of the soundtrack, Mata prepared the song Lloret de Mar, with the music video filmed in sunny Spain. Accompanying him in the video were both football fans and talented goalkeeper Wojciech Szczęsny.
The clip was uploaded to YouTube on September 16, 2024, and immediately won over listeners. After just two days, it garnered an impressive 612,334 views and secured the No. 1 spot on YouTube's trending music chart. The video’s comment section was flooded with praise from fans of both the rapper and the game.
Matczak has taken over the world.
